Things Nobody Tells You About Clogged Drains

Have you ever wondered WHY your drains are getting clogged? Drains are designed to move water from one place to another. But water isn’t always the only thing going down. Nonetheless, being proactive can save your drains from getting clogged. Here are some precautions that you can take to lessen the chance of a blocked drain:

  • Installation of your pipe system: Yes, sometime this could be the main reason and you have never thought about it. The plumbers may take advantage of you, or just do a poor job of installing it. They could use inferior products and installment for your drainage system. So if your drains are getting clogged often, hurry up and get your pipe system inspected from an expert.
  • Excess using of toilet papers: People doesn’t face these type of issues very often but when they do, it may be a costly expense. So if you don’t want any unnecessary expenses, start using fewer tissue papers and use the flush more often. Or else try tossing them in a bin rather than flushing them down the drain.
  • Hair: When you are taking a shower, your body hair will end up in your drainage system. And when this continues for some time, it will cause a build up, turning into hairballs and block your drains. As a solution, you can use hair drain guards/spider.
  • Foreign objects and food: Don’t use sinks and basins for dumping your food or other toiletries such as soap or toothpaste. It is not uncommon to dispose of such material on sinks. Most of the time this becomes the cause of drain blockage. So try avoiding dropping these in your sink if you don’t want your drains to get clogged.

Prevention is always better than cure and no one wants to get their drains clogged. Being a bit careful can save you from a ton of headaches down the road.
